Twins !

These two bracelets were made by myself and Dot this afternoon, they took about half an hour. The square (tila) beads are exactly the same but the seed beeds are a different colour , we put different clasps on too.
The effect is strikingly different even though we started with the same 'main' beads. (And I have got a better tan than Dot !)

The one I didn't like - then I did !

This is one I redid after I pulled it out in class , then I changed the clasp and liked it even more. Its done in golden bugles and matt silver delicas.
Now I am going to sew a cardigan up which I finished knitting yesterday.

Not gardening

Hi this week I'll be mostly not gardening!  The weather here is wet and chilly, its the middle of summer. I managed to mow about 1/3 of my front lawn with my push along mower before it started to drizzle, my arms were aching though so I was glad the weather was poor.
So I was forced to do a little cross-stitch card I had in a drawer, I know that petal looks odd but I just followed the pattern.  I should spend time learning how to take good photos I suppose.
Beading was good last night, even though I pulled my work out, however I have started again with much better beads and I have done about 3 inches ( in old money) so that picture will be on another day.
I have tried to complain about an advert on TV today but you can not get past page 4 on the Ofcom site .Its the advert where the opera singer advertises insurance (he's supposed to be funny) anyway Sue Barker shoots him with a missle . I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH THIS . Soldiers are being killed every day, not to mention Syria . But it seems impossible for the ordinary person to do anything about it. Very disappointing .......How could they think this would be acceptable.

a lovely brooch

I am still learning how to take good pictures so you'll have to forgive me that. However I learned how to make this brooch this week and I have absolutely loved making it, its called dimensional bead embroidery. I treat myself to a book for my birthday , it has some fantastic projects so I hope to be making some more similar things. I have also sold 2 bracelets wow I was thrilled.
My next discovery is a type of yarn called zpageti. Its really thick material to crochet bags etc, so I can't wait to get started on that too. So much to do , so little time.......
The next bit is just a comment on the younger generation. My friend Mandy has recently bought the book called 50 shades of grey, my daughter Eloise was reading it last time she came home, I told her I was going to read it after Mandy but she thinks it will be too rude for me! The mind boggles.......

How was the week ?

Well this week was odd, I was really poorly on Tuesday with a migrane type headache. In fact I bought some really strong tablets with the warning that if I took them for more than 3 days I should seek medical help as they were addictive, (you would think they were morphine or something from that warning but they didn't touch the headache). I can't see me being addicted to them anyway as I am really not good at taking tablets. Had the runs a couple of days too. The weather has been atrocious so all the poppies are wrecked. Sold TWO bracelets one to my friend Miriam who makes the most wonderful quilts, and one from a web site called Folksy which I had forgotten I had used. At my beading class I learned to sew beads round a cabousion ( I have spelt that wrong but I can;t spell it right ). My friend and beading teacher Dot and I went for a drive on Wednesday but I wasn't well so I had to come home to my own toilet (you get my meaning I'm sure ). Then at 11 o'clock in the evening I had to pick my beautiful daughter up in L**ds as she was coming home for a funeral on Thursday. I am hoping for a better week next week, I have a cardigan to finish knitting and two other knitting projects which aren't particularly urgent to get on with. ttfn, Beverley
